Grade 3's Go to Simonstown

On Thursday 31 March, the Grade 3's made their way to Simonstown to visit the Navy Museum and Just Nuisance.  Their theme this term is "South Africa" and this outing is designed to complement the curriculum.

Here are a couple of their thoughts on the day:

"We went to the Museum to learn about Just Nuisance. We watched a movie about him. After that we looked at all the stuff in the museum an we also went to see the dungeons. We saw just Nuisance's navy collar and it was a real collar!  Just Nuisance was famous and he was the only dog to go in the army's aeroplane. He was also the only dog to go onto the train and the boats. Just Nuisance got married to Adinda for real. Adinda came from Johannesburg and when she and Just Nuisance got married she had to go back to Johannesburg again. When she arrived she had four puppies and she sent two to Just Nuisance."  ~ Chloe ~

"On Thursday we went to the Museum to learn about Just Nuisance. He was a very rich dog. The Navy people liked the dog. We saw his navy collar so that he could go around with the Navy. It was brown with his name at the top. He married a dog that came to be just Nuisance's friend for a couple of weeks. The dog had to go back to Johannesburg. The dog was pregnant so there were two puppies that came to Just Nuisance. But the puppies had to go back hom. We went to the dungeons and it was lots of fun walking around the museum. We saw his grave on the mountain." ~ Shaun ~
