Gr. 6 Easter Activity

From the pen's of the Grade 6's...

"On Wednesday, 30 March, we did an Easter egg activity. We had to bring in 3 raw eggs from home, cotton wool, super-glue, cotton and a bowl. We used one of the eggs and did decoupage on it from a cut out pattern on a pretty serviette. We then glued the picture on and waited for it to dry. We snapped a toothpick in half, stuck it in the hole in the egg and attached cotton so it could be hung up on something. Then with the other egg we cracked it in half, glued it together, put cottonwool in it and then the lentil seeds, for it to grow." ~ Kyra ~

Getting threaded
"We decoupaged our eggs with modge-podge and serviette pictures. The first thing we did was blow out the egg and wash them. Then we cut our serviette pictures and decoupaged them on. With our other eggs we cracked them and made them into gardens by putting cotton wool and lentil seeds in the egg shells." ~ Kayla ~

It's a tricky business
"On Wednesday and Thursday we made mini gardens and Easter decorations. We used eggs the most. We were meant to crack some of the eggs in half which I found really difficult. My favourite thing was putting on the modge-podge." ~ Becs ~

Success!

"For Easter we have been making little egg gardens in egg shells. We are growing lentils. We also made Easter decorations. We got a serviette and stuck them on with modge-podge. They all turned out beautifully! ~ Kristin ~

A helping hand
"We made a mini garden out of egg shells. We made them by cracking egg in half, glued them on by their point and then put damp cotton wool and lentil seeds, I hope mine lasts!! ~ Bella ~

Looks good enough to eat!
"The Easter eggs were fantastic. I really enjoyed making them although I got frustrated with putting string in the egg. When I was finished it, I really loved it. Have a happy Easter and enjoy your holidays!"  ~ George ~

Looking lovely
"I liked it when we made the lentil plant and the hanging Easter egg.
I liked the colours and the pictures. It looked really pretty." ~ Joel ~

"I really liked it when i broke the egg in half and made things out of it." ~ Lee ~

"We made eggs for Easter and Mothers' Day. In the morning mine got cracked." ~ Dean ~

Finishing touches...
"On Wednesday we made Easter decorations and we used two cracked eggs, cotton and some seeds. We worked in pairs and my eggs turned out well. We made an egg garden and I gave it to  people who haven't got gardens to a make a little egg garden." ~ Fiki ~

How pretty the finished product!
Well done Grade 6's - What an artistic and creative bunch you are!
